When local Dallas teenager, Sarah Lacerte heard about the hundreds of people lining up to get food in West Dallas, she decided to do her part. Her father, local businessman Chad Lacerte had been serving in West Dallas at the Westmoreland Heights Neighborhood Association weekly food distribution for months. Touched by the need, he sponsored an event at the W Hotel with his Dallas Watersports Complex last fall to do his part. Now, his daughter is following in his footsteps.
Born with many life-threatening food allergies, and the difficulty associated with it, Sarah understood a small part of what her peers were going through. "Although my allergies made my life difficult at times, I have always been blessed to know that I will never go hungry." she said. "As part of becoming an answer to the problem, I have decided to help keep other people from going hungry as my Mitzvah Project." stated the smiling teen.
The organization that Sarah is helping is a non-profit called Strategic Justice Initiatives. They began a project on hunger called FEED 3, which stands for FEEDing the Body (Hunger), Mind (Character education) and Soul (Service Projects).
Sarah explained: " Feed 3 was a project begun by Mr. Randy Skinner who lives in West Dallas, one of the more impoverished areas of our city. Mr. Skinner and his family moved to West Dallas for the purpose of helping people in need. Eight-three percent of the children in West Dallas struggle with hunger on weekends and summers, when they are not in school to receive food".
To help children experiencing hunger in West Dallas and Fair Park, FEED 3 provides tote bags that can be filled up with nutritional food to synagogues, churches, businesses, youth groups, etc. These groups fill the bags, return them to the school in need, and before children go home for the weekend, they are provided a bag of food for the weekend. The Greater Dallas Justice Revival has adopted FEED 3 as a part of its school outreach program.
There are 280,000 children in the greater Dallas area who go hungry on weekends and summers. "It only takes a few minutes of your time, and about $25 to fill up a bag of food to help a child who normally has no food on weekends." said Sarah's father, Chad Lacerte.
Would you please consider taking one or more bags to fill with food? You may also have a group of friends, business, neighborhood group, that may want to take a box of bags (25 count) to fill, so we can help more children.
Please join Sarah and let the Greater Dallas Justice Revival know how many bags and children you want to help. Email us at justicerevivaldallas@gmail.com for an inquiry.

An incredible opportunity awaits inner city athletes in the Jubilee Community of Fair Park this July 21st. The event entitled “A Day of Champions” will reach 150 inner city kids from the age of 8-18. The camp, sponsored by the Greater Dallas Justice Revival and Heart of a Champion, will provide kids an opportunity to meet sixteen current college coaches and former NFL players who will teach youth sports and character development.
The “Day of Champions” is run by Josh Heupel’s 14 Foundation. Coach Heupel was the quarterback when the University of Oklahoma won the National Championship. Josh is now the quarterback coach for the University of Oklahoma.
Throughout the day, former NFL players share their personal stories of triumph in the midst of adversity and encourage the young people to strive for excellence in life.
Your help is needed to sponsor these inner city children. The cost per camper is $100 for the day event. Please consider being a part of this life changing event by making a donation today. Your gift is tax deductible.
The Greater Dallas Justice Revival sponsors events such as “Day of Champions” throughout the year as part of its FEED 3 program. The nationally known Heart of a Champion character development program is a major part of the FEED 3 program.
Please make checks payable to “Strategic Justice Initiatives” and designate the memo line to “Day of Champions.” Your gift is tax-deductible. Please send your check to:

The Greater Dallas Justice Revival has taken the challenge to mobilize individuals, churches, non-profits, and business to become the answer to our growing hunger crisis in the DFW area. Nearly 300,000 children in Dallas County and 166,000 children in Tarrant County will be faced with hunger this summer. We need corporate sponsors to join with business partners like PepsiCo AmeriCorps sponsorship with Central Dallas Ministries summer feeding programs. Our organization will connect your business with key non-profits, churches, and organizations that have been in the forefront of becoming an answer to the child hunger crisis. Please consider making a generous contribution to the Greater Dallas Justice Revival so that we can continue our work in bringing the body of Christ together to touch our city, making it the best place for all families to live.
