More than 7,000 attend May 1st Concert that will feed thousands of kids this summer!

More than 7,000 attended the May 1, 2010, concert with Grammy Award winning artists Toby Mac, Casting Crowns, 10th Ave North, and Caleb in Grand Prairie, Texas. The event was for raising awareness among the local community about the more than 400,000 children in Dallas County and 170,000 children in Tarrant County who face a hunger crisis this summer.

Over 2500 pack backs were distributed among attendees, who were asked to take boxes of 25 back packs each, to their church, non-profit, business, and/or families, accepting the challenge to fill the back packs with nutritional items. These back packs will be distributed to local schools and non profits who are not part of the North Texas Food Bank extensive back pack program due to a shortage of funds.

The event sponsored by radio station KLTY and Twenty Ten Mission, is the first of future partnerships with major artists in the Christian, Country, and Pop entertainment fields, that the Greater Dallas Justice Revival will hopefully utilize the public on the current hunger crisis.

Go and Be May 1-2, 2010

The Justice Revival is in partnership with a new exciting movement in Dallas called Go and Be. It is a group of congregations coming together to bring heaven to earth. The launch day is May 1-2, 2010. How does it work? Churches individually plan and organize one or two days of service projects over the weekend of May 1 and 2, 2010. Churches may choose to cancel services on Sunday (and Saturday night if you have them) and in place of those services do acts of service. Or a church may choose to do service projects on Saturday and share the results in Sunday services.

Go and Be believes that having God’s people serving across the city on the same day, will speak a powerful message to our region. Those churches involved are Bent Tree Bible Church, Chase Oaks, First Baptist McKinney, Irving Bible Church, McKinney Fellowship Bible Church, Oak Cliff Bible Church, Park Cities Baptist Church, Spring Creek Community Church, The Heights Baptist Church, United Christian Church, Watermark Church, Woodcreek Church and World Vision.

For a list of service projects and how to be a part of this movement, visit their website.
